Mazars in the UAE expands Tax Advisory and Technology Consulting teams with appointment of two new local partners

Jan 2023:Mazars in the UAE has expanded its Tax Advisory and Technology Consulting practices by appointing two new local Partners, Sabine Sleiman and Azzam Ani, who commenced their roles on Jan 2023.

The additions of Sabine and Azzam to the UAE leadership will enable Mazars to continue delivering a comprehensive suite of tailored services, and help our clients realize their full potential. This also underscores Mazars' commitment to providing clients with top-tier tax advisory and technology consulting services to further strengthen the firm's expertise and capabilities in the UAE local market.

In her new role, Sabine Sleiman will lead and expand Mazars’ tax advisory practice. With many years of experience within the Mazars Group, Sabine has worked with a wide range of local and multinational clients across several industries providing services in tax, audit, outsourcing, and consulting. As a tax partner, Sabine is responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax advisory services, tax planning, compliance, restructuring and consulting. Sabine is a Lebanese Certified Public Accountant, holder of an EMBA degree from ESCP Paris. She has completed various professional certifications that have helped her expand her skills in tax related matters.

Upon joining, Sabine said “I'm thrilled to join Mazars' Tax Advisory team here in the UAE, especially amid the introduction of corporate tax during this year (2023). With my expertise in dealing with complex tax matters, I'm confident to drive impactful outcomes for our clients and help them successfully navigate the new UAE tax landscape.”

On the other hand, Azzam Ani will lead the Technology Consulting practice. Azzam has vast experience in deploying business applications and building data-driven solutions within the private and public sectors. In the UAE, Azzam has worked with various private sector companies where he successfully led multiple digital transformation projects. Prior to that, he worked in Canadian banking for several years where he held multiple positions within the Business and IT fields. Azzam holds an Undergraduate Degree of B. Com with a specialization in MIS from McMaster University, a Graduate Degree in Enterprise Data Analytics & Big Data Management from the University of Toronto, and is certified in multiple Business Applications from SAP and Oracle.

Upon joining, Azzam said “I'm very excited to join Mazars to lead their Technology Consulting practice. In this day and age, organisations of all sizes require a unique solution to their unique problems, and we realize this. Therefore, we will be working closely with our clients, so we can provide them with specifically tailored and innovative solutions. We will mainly be offering services in the area of business applications, data management services, IT audit, and strategic technology consulting."
